Birth Advocacy & Systems Navigation for Utah Families

Navigating healthcare, legal, and social systems while pregnant can feel overwhelming — especially for families already facing significant barriers. UDAP's advocacy and navigation services ensure that every person, regardless of circumstance, has a knowledgeable, compassionate guide by their side across Salt Lake City, Utah County, and the Intermountain West.

Who We Advocate For

Everyone Deserves to Be Heard

Our advocacy and navigation services are specifically designed for the families most often marginalized in Utah's healthcare system. We work alongside you — not just during birth, but through every interaction with the systems that affect your pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum period.

Unhoused & Housing-Unstable Families

Navigation of shelter resources, hospital social work, postpartum housing support, and coordination of care for families experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake City and across Utah.

Immigrant & Refugee Families

Culturally responsive, multilingual-referral support for families navigating immigration status, language barriers, and unfamiliar healthcare systems across the Wasatch Front.

Incarcerated & Justice-Involved Individuals

Advocacy for pregnant individuals who are incarcerated or recently released — coordinating with facilities, parole/probation, and community health resources in Utah.

Substance Use Recovery

Nonjudgmental navigation of SUD treatment programs, neonatal care coordination, and community support resources for families in recovery across Utah County and Salt Lake City.

Medicaid & Insurance Navigation

Help verifying Medicaid eligibility, understanding coverage, connecting with financial assistance programs, and navigating the Utah Medicaid doula benefit.

Complex Medical Situations

Coordination and advocacy for high-risk pregnancies, NICU families, pregnancy loss, and medically complex situations requiring additional support across Utah hospitals.
